From Sept. 8-14, 2019, Life Care Center of Palm Bay, Florida, observed Environmental Services Week.
Each day, associates did something different to celebrate the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance teams. Sherry Davis, director of environmental services, organized the events.
On Monday, environmental services associates enjoyed a luncheon of fried chicken, deli sandwiches, veggies, spinach/artichoke dip with pumpernickel crackers, baked beans, potato salad, cheese, fruit and banana pudding.
On Tuesday, Davis presented gifts to her staff members – an insulated environmental services mug for the men and an environmental services tote for the ladies, and each team member received a pin.
Wednesday’s festivities started early. The associates enjoyed a breakfast buffet with eggs Florentine, sausage, bacon, biscuits, pastry, hash browns and watermelon, served by the dietary department.
On Thursday, associates had the chance to win giveaways, including mugs and lunch containers. Friday closed out the week with environmental services associates wearing their commemorative T-shirts for Jeans Day.
“Environmental Week really made me feel appreciated and special by my boss with all she did,” Michelle Hintze, housekeeper, shared. “It raises your spirits when you feel you are worthy. I enjoyed the whole week and loved our gifts and raffles. I even came in on my day off to enjoy lunch!”
Will Tarbet, executive director, added, “Our environmental services staff keep the building looking great and take exceptional care of our residents. We are proud to recognize them this week.”
