During the extended absence of a resident’s family member, Ashley made sure the resident felt extra supported and cared for. Ashley is known for providing special attention to residents during their transitions of care and more challenging periods of their lives, often doing so with a smile and cheerful attitude!
When a resident needed their window screen fixed so they could open their window and enjoy some fresh air, Jessica took matters into her own hands. It was the weekend, which meant that maintenance would not be available to fix the screen until Monday. So, Jessica went out and fixed the screen herself. Even though it began to rain during the process, she did not stop until the job was done!
During her shift on the dementia unit, Nichole struggled to get one resident to eat. When Nichole asked them why they weren’t eating, the resident stated they had a strong craving for chicken. After double checking the resident’s diet restrictions, Nichole went out during her lunch break and bought a chicken dinner for the resident.
When a beloved 100-year-old resident passed away, Lori helped several residents physically prepare to attend the celebration of life.
The celebration was held at an old church with few accessibility accommodations, so Lori worked with these residents to build their strength, mobility, and endurance, enabling them to climb the church’s entrance steps safely and celebrate their friend's life.
