Each month, our facilities host many fun, exciting, and beneficial events that engage and uplift our residents and serve the community.
We love to showcase these events because they represent an often overlooked aspect of care––fun! Staying active, engaging with others, and having fun all carry great benefits for body, mind, and spirit. And our residents are getting healthy doses of all three.
Below are some recent events and activities hosted by our facilities across the U.S.
Residents at Life Care Charleston participated in their own in-house derby, racing each other with huge smiles and endless cheers. After everyone crossed the finish line, they toasted with refreshing mock mint juleps and shared tons of laughs. Moments like these at our facilities make lasting memories!
For International Harry Potter Day, residents at The Highlands celebrated by inviting all to the great hall at “Hogwarts” for house sorting, wand education, wizard terminology class, spell casting, and, of course, Butterbeer! What a magical day!
The Woodlands celebrated Cinco De Mayo with chips, salsa, queso, and quesadillas. Also, everyone enjoyed taking swings at piñatas filled-to-bursting! There’s no better way to celebrate the 5th of May!

Residents, staff, and even a couple of family members embarked on a fantastic fishing trip to The Rodman Dam Reservoir in Palatka!
Not only was the weather perfect, but some amazing wildlife paid a visit. They saw an alligator, turtles, crabs, fish, and birds! Activity assistant Josh brought a fish finder so everyone could enjoy watching the fishs swim under the doc.
After catching a few, they enjoyed sandwiches, chips, and cold watermelon, packed and prepared by their skilled dietary team. They even celebrated two special birthdays! Many of the residents reminisced about past fishing experiences, as some hadn't been fishing in years. This was definitely an adventure to remember!
