Each month, our facilities host many fun, exciting, and beneficial events that engage and uplift our residents.
We love to showcase these events because they represent an often overlooked aspect of care––fun! Staying active, engaging with others, and having fun all carry great benefits for body, mind, and spirit. And our residents are getting healthy doses of all three.
Below are some recent events and activities hosted by our facilities across the U.S.

The memory care unit at Life Care Center of Medina sets the standard for staying active in body and mind and having the most fun doing it! The residents recently took part in a series of lively, dynamic games: kickball, tableball, and parachute!

Life Care Center of Elizabethton believes in “bucket filling,” or taking time to lift others up, share kindness, and create meaningful moments. Here is one of their recent bucket-filling moments:
Executive director Brandy Grindstaff and her associates teamed up with the residents to bake some Thanksgiving pies––chocolate, butterscotch, pumpkin, and apple pies to be exact. Everyone laughed and shared their favorite memories of pie baking throughout their lives. Many residents (or seasoned pie bakers) offered their personal baking tips and tricks to help the pies bake to perfection, which they did!

Because sometimes the only answer in life is… donuts! Residents at Garden Terrace at Forth Worth embarked on a sweet and tasty adventure to a local donut shop. A day out on the town? Check. Visiting with friends? Check. Warm, tasty treats? Well, we’re getting the picture that GT residents had the perfect day.

Through various interactive games and engaging activities, residents at Desert Cove Nursing Center can earn what’s called “activity bucks.” And recently, a few of them cashed in their bucks for a scrumptious steak lunch, with steaks fresh off the grill! Sounds like activity bucks very well spent.

The associates at Life Care Center of Valparaiso took time on Veterans Day to honor a few special residents: brave men and women who served and protected our nation. We are so proud of all our veteran residents and are eternally grateful for the dedication and courage they showed in serving our nation and fighting for our freedoms.
