Life Care Communications

Each month, our facilities host many exciting events that engage and uplift our residents and serve the community.

We love to showcase these events because they represent an often overlooked aspect of care––fun! Staying active, engaging with others, and having fun all carry great benefits for body, mind, and spirit. And our residents are getting healthy doses of all three.

Wheelchair Wash at Life Care Center of Charleston

Who doesn’t love a sparkling set of wheels? Residents at Life Care Center of Charleston decided to beat the heat and get outdoors for a fun wheelchair wash! The weather was great, the smiles were big, and the residents got to enjoy the last of summer with a little water, clean wheelchairs, and fun time together.

End-of-Summer Luau at Alameda Oaks

Alameda Oaks ended summer island-style with a festive luau! Residents enjoyed Hawaiian macaroni salad, Hawaiian sliders, pineapple upside-down mini cakes, and refreshing virgin piña coladas. It was an afternoon of fun, laughter, and lots of dancing. Summer may be ending, but the fun and fellowship continues at Alameda!

Week of Fun at Life Care Center of Blount County

What a week for Life Care Center of Blount County! They enjoyed hands-on science projects, fun physical games, exciting card game battles, delicious brownie sundaes (thanks to Caris Healthcare) and ended it all with an awesome tailgate to celebrate the first UT Knoxville game of the season. It was the perfect way to kick off the fall season.

River Rock Painting at Life Care Center of Hilliard

Residents at Life Care Center of Hilliard had an exciting and artful day with Callahan Christian Homeschoolers. Everyone painted river rocks to be placed throughout the community for people to find and enjoy. During the painting session, residents enjoyed engaging and connecting with the young students and their families.

If you’re in the Hilliard, Florida, area and happen to find a rock with Life Care Center of Hilliard beautifully scribed on the back, please take a photo, post it to Facebook, and tag the facility!

Banana Lover’s Day at The Highlands

What better way to celebrate National Banana Lovers Day than by going…well, bananas?

Residents and associates at The Highlands played all kinds of quirky, fun games for the occasion. They had some banana squishing and peeling contests, which were the opening acts to the BIG event: Banana Cream Pie Throwing! Residents and even visiting families took turns tossing pies at our Banana Girls. It’s pretty clear that The Highlands loves eating, squishing, throwing, celebrating, and going bananas!
