Life Care Centers of America's Whatever It Takes Champions program honors associates who go beyond their job descriptions in caring for our patients, residents, and their families. Here are four of our recent winners and their inspiring stories. These associates are certainly Champions of Care!

Yashvir Padan, CNA at Life Care Center of South Hill

Yashvir’s nomination comes directly from a short-term rehab patient, who had this to say about her kindness and care:

“She treated me so well. She did everything I needed. I feel like we became friends during my stay, as she went above and beyond. I greatly appreciated it. She would come and check on me to where I didn’t even have to use my call light.”

Toby Guinn, LPN at Life Care Center of Banner Elk

Here is a nomination from the family member of a Banner Elk resident. Toby’s actions brought them a great amount of relief and comfort. Thank you, Toby, for being there for our residents and their families!

“He always goes above, but last week Toby drove almost an hour from home on his day off to give Eunice her meds when she would not take them for anyone else (the whole team tried their best). Everyone that gave her care went above and beyond, but Toby went a bit further.”

Andrea Scott, Housekeeping Aide at Payson Care Center

Residents and staff at Payson Care Center wanted to nominate Andrea Scott because she touches so many lives and has the “blue cards” to show for it! Blue cards are feedback cards that residents and patients can submit for review, and Andrea regularly receives words of praise and gratitude in hers. Her colleagues and residents are so proud of her and feel blessed to have her at their facility.

Rob Peterson, Driver at Life Care Center of Collegedale

According to residents and staff at Life Care Center of Collegedale, Rob often does much more than expected to serve the facility. But recently, Rob volunteered to come in on his day off to drive a resident to a funeral. This resident had no other way to attend the funeral, and Rob stepped up without hesitation. The resident was deeply grateful for his generosity and kindness.
