Life Care Centers of America's Whatever it Takes Champions program honors associates who go beyond their job descriptions in caring for our patients, residents, and their families. Here are four of our recent winners and their inspiring stories. These associates are certainly Champions of Care!

Misty Louis, CNA at Life Care Center of North Glendale

We always find it extra special to receive Whatever It Takes nominations directly from residents. Here is what one resident had to say about Misty and the care she provides:

“Misty comes to work every day with a smile and brightens up your day. She is always willing to help you with anything. Will never tell you she can’t, and will go out of her way to make sure that it gets done.

Aaron Campbell, Housekeeping Assistant at Life Care Center of Ooltewah

After working the night shift, a CNA at the facility walked out to the parking lot only to find that her tire had gone flat. Thankfully, Aaron, who was on his way in to work his day shift, stopped and helped her change the tire. According to those witnessed the act of kindness, Aaron was all smiles the entire time!

Alaysa Gates, HIM Assistant at Life Care Center of Cleveland

Residents at Life Care Center of Cleveland recently enjoyed a Mr. and Mrs. Life Care ceremony. They had formal dresses, charming accessories, delicious refreshments, and all the necessary things to make such an occasion beautiful, elegant, and fun. And much of that was thanks to Lacy, who supplied attire and helped with hair, makeup, and refreshments!

Marisa Sargent, CAN at The Highlands

The following note comes from the wife of a resident, who nominated Marisa for her exceptional care:

“My husband Rick is here at The Highlands. He met Marisa on third shift as she took care of him. She now comes every other Tuesday on her day off, with her husband. Her husband reads some of his writings to my husband, and they talk. Her husband also plays music and shares his songs.

"They sing and pray, do a little bible study too. They both brighten Rick's day. It makes me very happy that she is a very caring CNA. And he loved the clam chowder they brought him. He loved and looks forward to every other Tuesday. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do and caring about my husband.”
