Champions of Care: Whatever It Takes Winners Dec. 2024

Life Care Centers of America's Whatever it Takes Champions program honors associates who go beyond their job descriptions in caring for our patients, residents, and their families. Here are four of our recent winners and their inspiring stories. These associates are certainly Champions of Care!

Adiane Delgado, CNA at Briarwood Health Care Center

Adiane started at Briarwood as a housekeeping aide but decided to obtain her CNA certificate so that she could do more for the residents!

In her new capacity, Adiane approaches the residents with enthusiasm and compassion and is always intent on meeting their needs. The residents and associates feel blessed to have a CNA as dedicated as Adiane.

Bailey, Restorative CNA at Cañon Lodge Care Center

We are so thankful for associates like Bailey, who take the time to ensure our patients and residents feel supported and cared for.

Recently, one resident wanted to say thank you to Bailey by nominating her for the Whatever It Takes award! This is what the resident included in their nomination:

“Bailey tries so hard to always be attentive and is truly a caring person. She makes me want to push myself to get better.”

Yalitza Pirela, CNA at Life Care Center of Altamonte Springs

Sometimes, the wonderful care our associates provide inspires nominations from not just residents but also their families!

One resident’s family member nominated Yalitza for her exceptional service, and this is what they had to say about her:

“Even with as many patients that she has, she still goes above and beyond when taking care of her patients. She has taken care of my mom off and on for approximately four years but has her regularly now. I can visit with my mom and don't have to worry that all of her needs are met. Yalitza is certainly an asset to this organization. Please recognize her for all her efforts. My family is so grateful!”

Shauntay Grout, CNA at The Highlands

Shauntay learned that a resident was about to have her 98th birthday and thought such a milestone should be recognized. So, she brought coffee and donuts to the facility so residents and staff could celebrate! The resident was surprised and delighted, expressing that Shauntay's gesture made them feel special on their very special day.
